Marina Hotel Corfu - Cala dOr

The Resort of Cala d'Or

The Island of Majorca has been a favourite destination for British tourists since the first package holiday was organised to Palma in 1952 by Vladimir Raitz, co-founder of the Horizon Holiday Group in the same year. He pioneered the way in which people made the move from taking domestic UK holidays to travelling overseas with their flights, accommodation and transfers included. Cala d'Or was one of the first resorts to take guests from the UK, so it has an abundance of experience in providing tourists with exactly what they want from their holiday.

Cala d'Or is an upmarket and impressive resort on the East Coast of Majorca and the most picturesque region of the Island.

The Cala d'Or beaches are renowned for their beautiful sand, azure blue seas and gently shelving bays making the resort perfect for families. Rocky out crops allow for snorkelling and a glass bottomed boat trip will take you out further to visit the other bays and to explore the coastline around the resort.
Cala d'Or has one of the prettiest Marinas on the island and you will be able to try some excellent dishes in some first class restaurants, look and buy in the designer range shops or just relax and sip a refreshing drink whilst watching the yachts come and go.

The main resort centre is located 2.5 km from the Marina Hotel Corfu. The centre offers a wide selection of bars and clubs offering a range of entertainment including live bands and music. With restaurants offering cuisine from around the globe, this resort has something for everyone.

Whilst the cosmopolitan city of Palma offers the widest variety of designer shopping, local shops in Cala d'Or sell a wide range of beach goods, local crafts and souvenirs. There are a number of larger supermarkets also available. Most shops stay open on a Sunday until about 2.00pm.

The central location and proximity to Palma makes Cala d'Or a great base for excursions and there are many to choose from.

The most popular attractions include the caves of Drach in Porto Cristo and the renowned market at Inca which takes place on a Thursday morning. There you will get the chance to barter with the locals and walk away with a bargain or two!

There are a number of Water Parks in the south of the island, that are suitable for children and adults alike, most water parks open about 10.30am till about 5.30pm, what about climbing aboard the very famous old fashioned train to Soller, stationed in Plaza España in the centre of Palma taking you through the lemon and orange groves you will be amazed at the breathtaking scenery along the way to Soller.

Evenings can be just as exciting, popular nights out include Sonamar. A spectacular gala dinner show not to be missed or the hugely popular "Pirates family show". With additional shows such as the Broadway "Come fly with me" and the medieval knights fighting for a princess there is something for everyone. You will be able to get more information and book these excursions at the hotel complex.

With such a beautiful island to explore, friendly locals and a fabulous all-inclusive complex, it makes the perfect combination for a well deserved holiday.
